Abstract

A highway bridge after a reconstruction has been selected for observing. The target is to ascertain whether it will be possible to determine fatigue of the bridge construction according to a change of metered deflections, dynamic behaviour caused by passage of vehicles, or by a modal analysis application. A road weight-in-motion machine (WIM) was installed in front of the bridge to compare values of responses for current highway traffic and to assign general loading of the bridge construction among stages of metering. At the same time the machine records weight and speed of running vehicles, codes them according to a type and weight to individual classes and saves these data to synoptical tables per days. The first results are stated in this report.
